BKK · CONNECTING PASSENGERS

Transit and connection assistance at Suvarnabhumi Airport

An escort for the change-of-flight leg at BKK: the correct transfer route, honest timing help and a guide to the next step of your journey — ฿2,700 (~$81) per passenger per service.

The service is booked as an arrival, a departure or both. Always describe your connection in the booking notes so the team can confirm exactly what it can help with.

BKK · MAIN TERMINAL + SAT-1

Connections at Suvarnabhumi need flight-specific planning

A BKK connection can remain airside or require entry, baggage collection and a new check-in. The ticket, baggage status and onward terminal determine the route, so both flight numbers must be reviewed before assistance is confirmed.

01

Main Terminal sequence

International check-in is on Level 4 and the public arrivals hall is on Level 2. Live airline and airport displays remain the final source for the counter, gate and baggage belt.

02

SAT-1 is a separate gate journey

Passengers assigned SAT-1 use the automated people mover after the required Main Terminal formalities. SAT-1 arrivals return to the Main Terminal route for passport control, baggage and customs.

03

Ground transport has its own levels

The Airport Rail Link station is on Level B1 and the official public-taxi queue is on Level 1. A Fast Track booking does not include transport unless a separate transfer add-on is confirmed.

04

Priority handling has limits

Official BKK Fast Track includes a personal escort and uses eligible priority facilities when open and authorised. Airport operations and government authorities retain control, so no fixed completion time is guaranteed.

Connection types at BKK

International → international (airside)
With bags checked through and the next boarding pass in hand, you can usually follow the Transfer signs without clearing Thai immigration — passing the dedicated transfer security re-screening instead.
International → domestic (landside)
You clear immigration, collect bags, pass customs and check in again for the domestic flight. This is where an arrival escort helps at full value.
Any separate-ticket itinerary
Unconnected tickets always mean collecting bags and checking in again — entering Thailand through immigration first, then restarting the full departure process.

What the escort does here at BKK

  • Meets you under the booked service and guides you to the transfer desks or the route that matches your ticket
  • Helps pace the transfer security re-screening, which every connecting passenger must pass
  • Guides the APM train leg between the Main Terminal and SAT-1 when the arriving flight or the onward gate uses the satellite
  • For landside connections: guides immigration, baggage reclaim, customs and the walk to the next check-in

Airside transfer or landside re-entry?

Airside transfer

  • Bags are checked through to the final destination
  • You hold the next boarding pass, or can collect it at a transfer desk
  • No Thai immigration — follow the Transfer signs and pass security re-screening

Landside re-entry

  • You must collect bags, hold separate tickets, or continue on a domestic flight — immigration comes first
  • An arrival service covers the entry leg and a departure service covers the new check-in leg — choose the combined package to be escorted through both
  • Immigration decisions always remain with the officers; the service helps with routing and timing only

Minimum connection times — the honest version

Minimum connection times (MCT) are set by airlines and only protect a single through-ticket itinerary — check yours with the airline. Touchdown time is never the start of your next flight.

Separate tickets carry no protection when the first flight is late. Allow more time than feels necessary and understand each carrier’s rules. Fast Track can make the walk faster; it cannot rescue a connection that was too short on paper.

Inter-airport connections: Suvarnabhumi to Don Mueang (DMK)

Continuing from a BKK arrival to a DMK departure means leaving one airport entirely and starting again at the other: complete the full arrival process here, cross the city, then check in from scratch at Don Mueang. Allow at least 4 hours end to end — more in rush-hour traffic.

A free inter-airport shuttle runs for connecting passengers with proof of onward travel, boarding at Main Terminal Level 2, Gate 3 (currently listed hours 05:00–24:00). Public taxis are the round-the-clock alternative, subject to traffic.

Our escorts operate on the Suvarnabhumi side only. For assistance at Don Mueang as well, book separately on that airport’s website.

Connection questions

Do I clear immigration when connecting at BKK?

It depends on your ticket and bags. Checked-through bags plus a boarding pass usually allow an airside transfer with no immigration; separate tickets, bag collection or a domestic onward flight always mean clearing immigration first. Confirm with your airline.

Can the escort take me to the other Bangkok airport?

No. The service operates within this airport only. For a BKK–DMK connection, book assistance separately at each end and travel between airports by shuttle or taxi yourself.

Which service should I book for a connection?

For a connection that requires entering Thailand, start with the arrival service; if you also want help with the new check-in, choose the combined package. Always list both flights in the booking notes.
